This pureing tool uses a spring-loaded tension arm to apply an equal amount of pressure to each shaft to quickly and accurately locates the “spine” and ensure consistency throughout the full set of clubs
The spine-finder uses twelve bearings mounted on self-aligning swivel blocks, which are said to virtually eliminate any shaft scoring. This spine-finder uses sealed, chrome bearings to provide accurate, consistent, and repeatable measurements. The shaft rests on top of bearings, and does not go through them. This makes it easy to spine a shaft with the grip on. Although a club can theoretically be spine aligned with this tool while the clubhead and grip are both on, this may prove difficult in practice because the weight of the clubhead may make an accurate reading difficult.
